A way to ease applicants’ anxiety amid long processing time in Canada immigration

Due to the impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, immigration applications in Canada are inevitably delayed. Applicants may feel great levels of anxiety while waiting.

To reduce the anxiety levels of applicants, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) might continue to improve the transparency in processing the applications. It may be recommended to provide such information as if applications were placed in a virtual queue. For example, when an applicant is checking the status of a Canadian citizenship grant application, IRCC could disclose the number of other applications ahead of this applicant, or even provide an estimated wait time.

With this extra transparency, applicants could have less stress yet more patience while waiting in the queue.

The above recommendation has been submitted to IRCC for consideration; source of images: IRCC.
