According to two recent reports from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), a Canadian public broadcaster, applications for Canadian permanent residence and citizenship continue to be delayed.
The delays have kept Canadian newcomers struggling, and the number of impacted applicants is close to one million, per the reports.
As predicted by the HMC team in January, there could be a conundrum in the Canadian immigration industry throughout 2022 – on the one hand, maintaining the high number of intakes of permanent residents, but on the other hand, reducing the processing time for backlogged applications. The HMC staff will keep following the development of the conundrum.
