Dynamic processing times adopted in Canadian immigration applications

According to a recent news release by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), dynamic processing times are in use to showcase how long the applications require to be finalized.

The HMC team is aware that before the change, standard processing times were used; because of the pandemic, the actual processing times of most applications have been much longer than the standard times; the gap appeared to cause confusion among applicants who were waiting for the results. As such, the new dynamic processing times, showing the actual times spent on applications, could provide an exact timeline of when most applicants can expect to receive decisions.

For example, the dynamic processing time for Canadian citizenship grant applications is 27 months, as of today. It means that many such applications might need as long as 27 months to be completed.
