According to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), applicants qualified for Canadian citizenship are eligible to apply for urgent processing if there is an emergency.
An example of urgency for applicants can be one of the following:
- needing Canadian citizenship to apply for or maintain jobs or attend Canadian schools
- requiring international travels due to severe medical conditions of families, but ineligible to apply for passports of their nationalities
- holding a Canadian Federal Court decision on the appeal of a former application
