Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently announced an extension of a temporary public policy that allowed visitors in Canada to submit work permit applications without leaving the country. The policy will be valid till February 28, 2023.
To apply under this program, an applicant requires an offer of employment, either backed by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or exempted from an LMIA.
The HMC team believes that the continuation of the public policy is a response to the pandemic situation, saving applicants’ hassles of departing Canada and then returning for work.
